The name
of Scott Thornberry will be known to many Darlington Supporters,
due to his popular website, Darlo Uncovered, as well as being a
contributor to 'The Quaker', our official matchday programme.
Scott was present
with his wife Tanya and son Connor, when the Commendation was awarded.
All enjoyed their day, as guests of the Supporters Club.
Scott has been
a fanatical Darlo supporter
since a young age, when he attended games with his dad, regularly
taking their places in the old East Stand at Feethams. When he reached
the age of 12, he opted to move into the 'Tinshed' with his schoolmates,
where he cheered on the team for years.
The year 1998
was an important year for Scott. Not only did he buy a house, but
more importantly, he invested in a computer also. His interest in
computers was great, and it wasn't long before he developed his
own website. Initially, the website focused on the town of Darlington,
however soon became about the towns football team. As many of us
know, the 'Uncovered' website is now very popular, with its messageboard
being a very active focal point for fans to discuss matters. Scott
is a family man who dedicates much of his time to his website in
order to provide a valuable service to the supporters of Darlington
FC, not only locally but around the world. He has even introduced
his 5 year old son, Connor to supporting Darlo(as shown in photo).
If you have never visited the site, then I would strongly recommend
that you take a look (www.darlofc.co.uk). Scott was nominated for
this Commendation, for not only his undoubted support, and promoting
the name of Darlington FC, but also for his much valued dedication
to providing his website service.
Congratulations
to Scott for this award, and thank you for your outstanding contribution
towards Darlington Football Club and its supporters.
