At the time of writing these notes, it looks like our season will extend into the play-offs. Automatic promotion would have always been our preference, however I'm sure that the clubs that do win play-off's will remember that day forever. Many of us will remember our previous two visits to Wembley, and only quite rightly be wary of the outcome. However, it is certainly an achievement to finish the season in a play-off position and therefore still stand a chance of promotion. Our form has been disappointing over the recent months, but we now have the chance to put things right and hopefully reproduce the form that we know we are capable of. Now is the time that we must all pull together and play our part in supporting Dave Penney and the lads as much as possible, as there is no reason why we can't achieve success this season.
It is important that we find a good run of form very soon, starting with a win this afternoon against Dagenham & Redbridge. Wins breed confidence, which is vital towards how we finish the season. . Our last home game unfortunately ended in defeat against fellow promotion hopeful's Hereford United. They didn't appear to be any better than us, however had a little more luck on the day. Then last week, the lads earned a creditable point down at Chesterfield thanks to Tommy Wright's goal.
The injury situation over recent weeks has clearly hindered Dave Penney's plans, so let's hope that we can get the squad fully fit for the games ahead. Next week we make the trip down to Peterborough, who are now promoted. Your support would be very much appreciated by Dave Penney and the lads, as a good result would be ideal preparation for the following all important games.

The summer months are going to prove busy ones at the Darlington Area. However the season ends, I'm sure that there will be some changes in personnel. Then off the pitch, there will no doubt be plenty of work going on in relation to the plans for development around the ground. Further to that, I believe that there will be quite a lot of working going on to repair the drainage under the pitch. Further to all of that, I'm sure that nobody will forget that Elton John will be performing at our ground in front of a huge crowd. Let's hope that this is only the first of many events of this size, as this really will put Darlington on the map.
Away from the town of Darlington itself, I'm sure that I'm just one of many who are looking forward to attending the Newcastle Arena in June for the Masters Event. This is the first time that Darlington have been represented in this competition, so it will be very interesting to see who will be turning out in our colours once more.
Today's game against Dagenham & Redbridge certainly won't be easy, as they have had some very good results this season. Please get behind the lads and give them some fantastic support as we approach a vital part of our season.
