After last weekends great win at Brentford, this afternoon's game against Wycombe Wanderers gives us the chance to build on that result and hopefully take another valuable 3 points. Our last home game was of course the FA Cup first round tie against Northampton Town, which I felt we were very unlucky not to win. I'm sure that most fans would agree that we played some good football in the first half, and could have scored 3 goals by half time with a little more luck. However, as we know the game ended up being drawn one a piece.
Obviously last weekends win at Brentford was 3 very good points, against a good side. Thanks to this win, we moved up to 3rd position in the league. I'm sure that the trip back from London was a good one for the players and fans alike. Talking of which, the man of the match as voted by the Supporters Club members on the coach back, was David Stockdale. However, this was very much a team performance, and all the lads deserved credit.
Then on Tuesday night, it was another away trip. This time, it was to Northampton for our FA Cup replay. Unfortunately, once again the magic of the famous competition has by-passed our club as we bowed out by 2 goals to 1. The old saying 'we can concentrate on the league' springs to mind!! Fair enough, we would have all liked a good cup run, but the league is certainly our 'bread and butter'. So back to league action today, and hopefully normal service will be resumed.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Supporters Club Annual General Meeting will be held here at the Arena next Tuesday evening (27th November). The meeting commences at 7.30pm in the Ron Greener suite, and the bar will be open. Managing Director Barry Simmonds will be present to represent the club and meet fans, whilst the meeting will also give fans the chance to meet new club chaplain John Burns. You can also hear about our 'Bring a friend day on Boxing Day' campaign, and discuss matters surrounding the initiative. So why not come along and have your say. We hope to see as many Supporters Club members there as possible.
BRING A FRIEND ON BOXING DAY
The Darlington Supporters Club is today launching its 'Bring a friend on Boxing Day' campaign. The simple aim of the campaign is to achieve a bumper attendance for our Boxing Day game against Rotherham United here at the Arena. With the support of the management of Darlington FC, we aim to attract a larger than average crowd in various ways. This includes encouraging fans to bring along family and friends to the game, who would not normally attend the Arena in the hope that they would like to return and watch Darlington in the future. I'm sure that most of us know of somebody who would not normally watch our team, but would be willing to be part of the festive crowd to witness the Quakers take on Rotherham Utd?
Every fan can take part in this campaign and help encourage more support for Darlington FC. Please give it some consideration. So, back to this afternoon's game.
Please continue to give the lads your excellent support, and let's hope for another win.
See you next time.

Andy Smith
