Chairman of the Supporters
Club John Hart decided to
make a long
weekend of our game
down in Torquay, "with a bunch of the barmy lads".
Accompanied by his
son David Hart, Peter Jasper, Roland Winder and Peter Lowe.
Friday
The journey commenced
by train on Friday lunchtime and we arrived in Torquay around 6pm.
We stayed at the
Manor Court Hotel which was a quality hotel only 400 yards from Plainmoor!
Friday night we quickly
were out seeing the many sites of Torquay (mainly the bars and ladies!)
We bumped in to quite
a few other Darlington fans making a weekend of it in Torquay.
Matchday
We arrived at Plainmoor
early enough for a few pre-match pints where we had many San Miguel's
Pete and Dave seemed
to adapt quickly to the warm southern conditions sporting new hair do's!
We met up with many
of the other 173 fans that had made the long journey down!
The match just made
the perfect weekend with Darlo winning 2-1, goals from Sodje and Wainy!
Saturday night we
celebrated with a meal and drinks in town, lasting in to the early hours...
A fabulous weekend
away with the perfect result. If we do have to travel to Torquay again next
season, then its a must for all Darlington fans and a stay over!
